You're on. Will chase up the other guy and if he's changed his mind will arrange to get it over to you.

It's about time - I was starting to feel left out with those slightly overblown bass Meadowlark boys :D
Or those not-quite-understanding-what-a-real-amp-should-be types with their BCs :D Might as well have stand-mount speakers as an amp which doesn't require 2 hefty gents to lift!
All that's needed now is for you and Stickman to get an amp with some real power ;) :JPS:
And of course a Clearaudio TT...

Well Sticky has the walrus power amp and has only recently bought it, with my speakers the walrus is plenty powerful enough, speaks are pretty easy to drive with 89dB and no nasty dips.

Maybe you need the refinement of the Walrus now Ian, and with you being a sucker for looks they would go well together and be great with the Clearaudio, would be one of theirs or Simon Yorke I would go for but with only 150 records and no phono stage gonna be pretty expensive, will stick with the silver spinners, thanks.

wecomea toa the Famileeea. If anyone laughsa we senda da boys round.

Depends on what you use it for.

How many sources, what kind of cabling [connections and impedance etc?

Having tried lots of active pre's for your money a passive is the way to go.

They really do wipe the floor with anything less than reference actives.

The MF magnetic got well reviewed in hifinews this month and is.

I have an Audio Synthesis Passion which is an all-vishay, all-silver wired internal version.

    Its simply astonishing!

No remote or XLR's on mine though and 3 inputs.

There are other versions around, with XLRs and even with a remote control!!!

My NOH has 3 inputs (2 RCA, 1 XLR), RCA and XLR outputs (can't be used at same time though) and remote volume (volume knob is belt driven from a stepper motor  ).

It looks amazing and sounds even better. Only cost me about $1500 inc. shipping to Europe which is an absolute bargain IMO.
