Spotify is a free program that gives direct access to an incredibly large selection of music; not just select tracks, but whole albums.

The sound quality is very reasonable, and you will hear adverts between playing tracks every now and again.

Available for £10 a month the user can have improved sound (quality nearly equal to that of CD) and removal of the adverts.

You may sign up here: http://www.spotify.com/se/get-spotify/go/open/

Albums or tracks may be linked to on this forum. To do this the user simply needs to right-click on the album picture or track name and select 'Copy HTTP Link'. This can then be inserted on the forum by right-clicking and selecting 'Paste'.

Hi Simon.

I hadn't used spotify for quite a while. I thought it had moved to paying only?

Seems to be working just fine now though.

Did I imagine that it went pay only?

I have the free version, you are allowed 10 hours + 5 plays of any track. If you try playing it for the 6th time, you'll be asked to upgrade to the premium version.

Yes it is really worth it, especially for the high bit-rate. The program itself seems to be getting very slow though don't you think? The last couple of months updates seem to be making it bloat-ware.
