Well thanks for the suggestions - I may indeed call on this thread in the future some time, but due to lack of funds, and other priorities coming ahead of this now, I'll have to put it off.
However, I've been experimenting with the positioning of the Aego's and I've discovered that having the subwoofer on the desk, in the centre with the satellites spread out on either side seems to give a nice result, so I'm going to see how it goes for the time being.
