stylus care

it's just that i thought that it said dehydrated ethanol... i know nothing about chemistry, and i wasn't sure if the properties of one told you anything about the other...?

Well it's hard to remove the last bits of water from alcohols, and some countries only allow up to a certain concentration to be easily available e.g. 70% alcohol 30% water plus a nasty taste and colour to inhibit winos from drinking poisonous alcohols. So I guess the Dynavector instructions are suggesting: don't use the easily available watered stuff - ask for the almost pure stuff (known in Norway as technical spirit - here I need a licence to get that stuff hence my sig). In your country you might find it easy to get hold of, or not. All conjecture, but sounds reasonable to me :)

Just use surgical spirit from a chemist. But probably not if the stylus is glued onto the cantilever, because it can dissolve the adhesive.

that's the problem, i have no idea how it's attached. i do already have some isopropyl alcohol and though i would rather buy a new cleaner than risk the cartridge, if it's ok to use, well then....
