After glancing at the Move over Kournikova.... thread I started wondering what steps others take to cover their surfing habits? This is something I have not thought too much about as I run Firefox with cookies for the session only, delete history and things every now and then but often wondered about other steps worth taking. I have visited the EPIC and the EFF sites to gather ideas about surfing anonymous and would like to know what other forum members know of this subject and what measures they take to leave small footprints or none at all as they flit from site to site.

Have you checked out switchproxy you can use an anonymous proxy, I've not done it myself, I use it to flip between the various proxies in the EMEA region at work.

You could also try having two profiles in Firefox and switch everything off on the anonymous one.
