    michael,
i know what you mean - and i'm not overly keen on the 911 either - the old 'beatlesque' verions with the round headlights and wayward handling had a certain charm but one, i feel, born of familiarity. i wouldn;t argue that all of the cars mentioned are very useful driving tools just that when spending that much on a car i'd like it's looks to be a bit better.
    cheers

Oh well, we'll have to disagree on that one. IMO the M6 looks stunning. The most beautiful car ever made however is, and always will be, the Ferrari Dino 246GT:

Actually, I wonder who's got the in-car hi-fi concession for Rolls Royce. :D

Not bad, but the front does look a bit like a shovel :D And I'll bet it breaks down every 20 miles!
But I do think you'll find the most beautiful car ever was the Aston DB5:

Especially with machine guns as standard..

Leonard, if your DB5 has machine guns installed then I agree with you. Otherwise I'd have to point that the the best looking car ever made is the Ferrari 250GTO, the Dino is a very close second.

Sorry Dev, but if you don't put a picture up it doesn't count. :)

Mercedes SLR Gullwing, OK but the Jag E-type? :chunder: ...and the XJ220 is even worse.

The McLaren F1 would be up there in my top 10 best looking cars:

I can never get my head around the concept of pop-up headlights. What are they saying? It's ok to be non-aerodynamic as long as it's at night?

I guess that's what they are saying Steve. Most people's driving is likely to be during daylight hours I would have thought. Given the choice between being aerodynamic only during daylight or never I'd choose the former :) . These days of course popup headlights are history as it's so easy to create streamlined headlights.
