i know what you mean - and i'm not overly keen on the 911 either - the old 'beatlesque' verions with the round headlights and wayward handling had a certain charm but one, i feel, born of familiarity. i wouldn;t argue that all of the cars mentioned are very useful driving tools just that when spending that much on a car i'd like it's looks to be a bit better.

Notice how they don't actually SHOW you the thing until the very end! That's message enough about its looks.

Not bad, but the front does look a bit like a shovel And I'll bet it breaks down every 20 miles!
But I do think you'll find the most beautiful car ever was the Aston DB5:

Especially with machine guns as standard..

I can never get my head around the concept of pop-up headlights. What are they saying? It's ok to be non-aerodynamic as long as it's at night?

I guess that's what they are saying Steve. Most people's driving is likely to be during daylight hours I would have thought. Given the choice between being aerodynamic only during daylight or never I'd choose the former . These days of course popup headlights are history as it's so easy to create streamlined headlights.
