btw, has anyone any views on comparisons between albums/tracks that they have both bought as CDs and also converted into digital from the vinyl?

I often prefer the converted ones cuz it takes a bit of the TT's response with it, especially from my 401s

Leonard - is it quarter track? I have about 40 tapes given to me which are quarter track stereo at 3.5 ips - I assume yours is half track 7.5/15 ips? If the former though, I'm tempted

Favourite at the moment Cassette, Nakamichi CR7 playing Vinyl recorded 15 years ago, second Turntable then CD and Radio!

It's just stereo half track, with switchable 7.5/15 ips, and internal dip-switches if you want 3andabit or 30ips...
Balanced only as well, and weighs a good 20kgs.
