What speakers should I be looking at?

As extremely incredibly tempting as that deal is, unfortunately I really can't swing it right now. I'd have to pass up the trichord etc, :rolleyes:

Thanks for the heads-up though. Just for future reference what are the best places to look for second-hand kit?
 
That's probably a shame Isaac, as I suspect you might have been able to haggle even a bit more off that £500 if it hasn't been sold yet, as it's the very last day of his sale... and he is entertaining bids as I just bought a little something from there earlier on today. ;)
 
Cheers.... Well, I could just about swing it if I pass up the trichord from WM, which had people queuing up to buy it, but I'd regret that too....
 
No, I'm not passing on the trichord. I'll wait on speakers, because I haven't had a chance to do as much research as I'd like, and they'd get me in trouble anyway...

However, good to know what's there... :)

I only bought 1 because he only had 8ft versions left (guess I should have got in sooner). If he'd had any 6ft versions, I'd have taken two of those, but still for £220 I'm happy. :MILD: Maybe I could chop it up into 2 x 4ft leads!

Another cable is on it's way from the states from a certain little Audiogon auction - 5ft you know who for US$293 including shipping.
 
Ah sorry Tone :) , I did wonder if you were going to be bidding too, but didn't say anything when we spoke yesterday so assumed you'd had your fair share of those leads. I went to bed at 1:30, but stick a max proxy bid in of $300!

Strange, thought I'd be outbid, but bidding doesn't seem to be as frantic towards the end of an auction on Audiogon was it is on Ebay - maybe because it was a lesser known product?

Any idea what the 3ft version went for, as that was going for more than the 5ft when I went to bed! :eek:
 
Tone... Ah OK, we must have been bidding on different items then. Just got an email from the manufacturers saying that they will have to make up and test the cables first!! :eek: You'd have thought they'd have made one up earlier seeing as this was an auction! :D
