What makes you assume I've not had "experience"?

Your insults may not have been aimed at me, but I find your arrogance and snobbery to be sad and patheric to a point of offence.

I wont argue with you, I'm sure the MOd's have better things to do.

Needless to say, with the snobbery, both in your slagging of Birkett and his set up, and your blanket dismissal of big issue sellers/homeless folk as "thievin junkie scumbags", you've showed yourself to be MOre of a......... <<self MOderation ;)>> than I could ever hope to.

Hopefully you'll realise you've said something *wrong* with your sweeping statement. But even if you do, you'll no doubt not admit it.

    Grow up.

    nice note MO
good of you to bring up last week, where me and Paul have made amends, very adult response by yourself.
As for my opinion i am perfectly entitled to it, now if you take the context i was talking in, being Bristol, and if you had any idea of life in Bristol you may understand.
I have time for people who have hit rock bottom and are willing to try and pick them selves up and move on, to get help you need to help yourself aswell.
Unfortunately the scum in Bristol arent interested, just freeloading junkies who would shag your granny for a score.

I am obviously more grown up than yourself.
Like i said, when you rationaly talk without insult....................

edit/ tad of selective reading by yourself aswell:rolleyes:

Crack sucks :) NO, I DON'T know through personal experience, but like H, I can't see why anyone would want to do a drug where the comedown's so bad you have to keep taking it.

Aha - now, if I *had* to take on a kid, I'd not have ANY problem being a househusband. I hate working; cleaning bogs and hoovering and cooking is a walk in the park compared to an IT job (with a silent "sh" in front of it).

Have to agree here with dom, these 'shoot em' up artists' crack heads and dill weed merchants, need help and rehabilitation, with their problem & intergrating back into soceity, lots of money spend on them, via the legal system and social services and wooly jumpered do good liberals, a .45 through the temple is easier, cheaper & helps remove the scum from around the rim of the bowl of soceity.

After working at Clouds house for some time I find some of the comments here very disturbing and would have to take Mo's side on this one.

Tarring everyone with the same brush is a bad thing to do. I was simply cooking for many people on the mend from all sorts of drugs, but got to chat with them at break times. I lived for Sundays, I would roast them lunch and it would be an easy day so I would have a book with me for reading down in the lovely gardens, and when not reading would talk with people.

They would all be deeply regretful of any bad behaviour (although many adicts might well be your next door neighbour) and were in general inteligent thoughtful human beings who slipped up once in their lives and were f**ked for the rest of it.

Also consider why they choose to try some of those most dangerous drugs in the first place, it certainly wasn't through sitting in warm rooms, with loving families listening to their expensive stereo.

You cannot go shooting these people, even if they are the scum of the earth.

I recommend, very hard labour say in the middle of Dartmoor in an environment where drugs and booze are impossible to obtain.

Thus they could do something useful, even if only providing the taxpayer with cheap hardcore for public roads and buildings.

Two years without any booze and drugs will dry them out. The thought of returning to such a harsh regeime will act as a very effective deterent to further anti social misbehaviour.

Thirty years of treating these people softly simply does not work. There is an old saying.......trendy liberals breed little thugs.

    Regards

    Mick

Clive, did I touch a subject very close to your heart mate, have you given up the 'evenings entertainment' for horse rescue, my such a worthy cause, still those that help themselves fine, those that rob, steal, mug and terrorise old people people, just for the buzz, soon as their in prision they just do more, incased in a worse drug enviroment, just sending them further down the road of very little return.
The ideal solution would be to tackle at source, however (No goverenment has the balls for that) so no drugs at all, then the crime boys would just have to go back fags, booze and woman to make they cash.
Not every one who does drugs, does so by choice (dealers, who offer samples to entice, but getting 9 yo kids to sell the stuff at school gates). Needs serious loss adjustment.
Why do you think crime has spiraled over the last 6 years or so?, lack of action/complacey, coppers with too much paper work, the list goes on.
But the fact remains drug dealers cultivate the business, remove the shit, and scum and it all helps, won't cure for sure but goes a long way.
Clive maybe ex-users should be loss-adjusted too, just as smokers are to be?
Here's a true story, about 7 years, some pair of theiving lowlife scum tried stealing one if my cars, on a lovely summers evening, the dog got them, so next nite the came back a poisioned the dog and stole a whole load of car keys, cops couldn't catch a cold round here at the time, so I waited up for over a week, shore a foxes play with horses, they came back, 3 of em' only about 20 or so?, they tried to steal a Jag, but I got one of nice gentleman, and he enjoyed the experiance immencey, the other 2 sped off, lucky I always keep my outdoor pursuits toys at work, I had some dum dum style bolt heads made, like a dead blow, it went straight through both windsreens, and they managed to manouve the car into a tree (such appualing driving), after helping them out, and 'dusting them down', those nice boys in blue arrived and took them away to help with their enquiries. Even managed to helpout those nice policemen as well.
Does rehab work?, if the scum are kept away from total scum, then in most cases yes, however the system has to be adapted to suit this, not sticking them in a drug infested prision.
Quite right too Clive, make em all work it off, then do the same for alcoholics, smokers and druggies, fair all round that way.

The one place you will not find any drugs is a military prision. The reason being that the inmates have no human rights.

Anyone found with just a grain of the stuff gets to receive a good kicking from a sadistic corporal with size 10 boots. No rights of appeal, just a lot of bruises.

Beef up the discipline and you will soon sort things out.

    Regards
