Still up for it. I'll bring a DAC64, since that's the lightest.

I would like to be there, but I would really need a passport, and of course I would miss this lovely weather. Enjoy :)

Right then, so far we have:-

Lee - bringing cables (mains as well Lee?).
    Ian - DAC64
John - BC. BTW John, if you want to bring the phono stage, please feel free, but remember my TT is a cheapo unit.
Julian - Not sure what you're bringing but you're welcome anyway :D .

I'll PM you my address and Telephone number nearer the day.

Anyone else free on the Saturday 9th and wants to come along?

Instead of a DAC64, I could bring a vintage Leak Stereo 20 valve power amp, if anyone has a pre to hand (passive preferably).

That'll be great, I mean if someone can bring a pre. I'd like to see how the Tannoys sound with a "proper" amp.

It's a foolish man who puts his puny DAC up against The Finest Digital Source Known to Humanity, but if Julian is prepared to have his DAC's arse kicked, I'll bring a DAC64 as well.

    ian,
of course i'm not expecting my humble box of ancient technology to even approach the awesomeness that is the dac 64 (ooooahhhhh - more etherial holy music).
if the dax is only 1/8th as good as the dac 64 then i shall be happy.
    cheers

My slide rule tells me it's unlikely to be more than 1/11th as good, unless yours is black and has nice buttons, in which case it may be 1/9th as good.

it's shiny piano black with gold writing on it . plenty of buttons too.
    see...

so it may just scrape in at 1/8th as good. no blue led's though which i suppose handicap it.
    cheers
