The size doesnt bother me too much as long as they are not too huge and as long as they would work well in the room that they need to be in.

those Ruark Epilogues are very good btw- i do rate them. All i'd suggest are the usuals- Tannoy M1s, Mordaunt Short MS10i Pearl/ MS20i Pearl, Rogers LS33, Spendor BC1 (if you're very lucky), Acoustic Energy 100s. Might also try JBL Control 1s

amp wise- look for Harman Kardon stuff, or a Marantz PM66se. Technics stuff is a bit poo, apart from that SUA900mk2 mentioned earlier, and they usually go for way more than they're worth
