Got an email from Target yesterday. They finally have the speaker stands in stock. This morning they turned up on my doorstep.

Nearly 40 kg of kiln dried sand later and here they are:

And how does it sound? Spellbinding! My spine has been tingled. Tears have been shed :D

It's like having a :band: in my living room :)

They've brought a whole new definition to the word 'precision'. Bass is drier and tighter and well defined. The soundstage is huge. The transparency is amazing. There's so much speed (or is that lack of smearing). It's tight! Everything sounds so much more real.

This has exceeded all my expectations.

Happy days

thats great that you're happy..!

I'm sorted now - just awaiting an interconnect and my sound / AV system is complete...I'm just after a 6 tier rack now tho...but I'm waiting for the right thing to come along... ;)

Heavy, stable stands do MIRACLES with the sound! Glad you are happy! Pairing heavy stands with good speakers will subjectively extend the bass for an octave and will extremely stabler imaging, more transparency etc. etc.

Have you used Blu-Tack to attach the speakers to the stands?

All this modern kit Mr Bear, the gas fire must be feeling the heat ;)

They look very high quality TB! :MILD:

Just had a look at the website - seem very good value.
Happy Birthday :)

Is this Target company something to do with the old Target company ?
Not sure but what I can tell you is that my credit card was billed by Roksan Audio so maybe Roksan bought what was left of Target.

Are the legs on Ikea Lack tables solid ? If not what do the spikes go into ?

Nice speaker stands BTW. They look well proportioned for your speakers. When i was using Atacama SE24 stands a few years ago (a broadly similar design to yours), i found that if I put too much sand into the stands it would suck the life out of the speakers, so i ended up leving a little air gap at the top to kinda let them breathe a little.

I had SE24 stands, and agree about the sand level thing. However, the SE24s don't look anywhere near as nice as the ones on this thread.
