Just goes to show how different peoples views are on what audio quality they could live with. I think I am very fussy. The better stereo I hear, the less crap I can live with. I should never have gone to Titian's haha!

Marantz 6010 ki signature £110, sequence 400 flat speakers £60, Pioneer pd801 £30. sqeezebox 2 £180. This is the kitchen system. If I changed anything it would be the speakers but my wife wanted something wall mounted and they are not bad.

for a 2nd system I quite happily listen to the following :

Kenwood cd player (b'day pressie from 17 years ago)
Sonic Impact t-amp (£26 off ebay)
theta Pro Basic II dac (£400 off ebay)
Wharfdale Diamond 8.1 speakers (£60 off ebay - new)
    and Kimber cables.

Not perfect but I could live with it.
