It's also very short-sighted, given that many HWFWC have children who themselves are or will be younger single voters (and indeed the HWFWC were themselves once younger single voters). Also, these days households made up of single people actually outnumber those made up of 'nuclear' families.
My daughter will be a first-time voter on 5 May. She is quite politicised and will vote Lib Dem because of Iraq, but she expects most of her peers to stay at home.
