Does anybody actually care about the election results?

Your not wrong, but you might have noticed that the parties (all of them) main consideration these days seems to "hard working families with children" as though that's all the country is populated by. Problem is I think they figure many of those outside that category don't vote and so don't count, but given that none of the parties seem to want to address the problems of unmarried couples and younger single voters its hardly surprising they may be disillusioned with the parties.

It's also very short-sighted, given that many HWFWC have children who themselves are or will be younger single voters (and indeed the HWFWC were themselves once younger single voters). Also, these days households made up of single people actually outnumber those made up of 'nuclear' families.

My daughter will be a first-time voter on 5 May. She is quite politicised and will vote Lib Dem because of Iraq, but she expects most of her peers to stay at home.

toady b liar

lied over iraq, mandy and that other dick who's running the election, too.

straw lied over iraq.

hoon a wanker who should walk over kelly and mod 'suicides' cover ups..how can you shoot yourself 5 times? lying bastards.

blunkett who lied should be barred from public office forever.

prescott should've walked for misconduct. you can't hit people in his position

when will the same accountabilty be applied to mp's as it is to the rest of us?

right honourable...right dishonourable lying bastards.

time for a change. I have no real leanings, lib dem, but tories making good noises...just talk to get in?

The Conservatives need an enormous amount of votes to be able to win this election which, lets face it, they're probably not going to get. When they had the chance to ellect moderate, euro-friendly, leaders like Ken Clark & Portillo they chose not to and instead elected the prince of darkness. They've only got themselves to blam.

Labour took us to war because the US wanted to have some company spending billions of pounds on it, have constantly lied, been let off by whitewash investigations costing more money, put taxes up & up but they'll still get back in power, so what does that say about us?

Forgetting the children bit for a minute, I agree - I'm sick of Brown saying how Labour have helped "hard working families" - that the F does hard-working mean. I work reasonably hard (well, okay, I work full time) and my wife geniunely works really hard (and worked very hard to get where she is) but because we have a pretty high income we've seen nothing but tax increases (and are above the level for child tax credit etc) and, being an IT contractor, I've seen Labour do their best to criminalise many freelancers.

Now, I won't harp on about being taxed more as Labour are open about taxing the better off but helping hard working families? What a load of bollocks - the middle classes have been stiched right up on the tax front.

Matt.
