Ah well! Time to get my own back for all those Stereophonics quips!!

The Streets are laughable talentless chavs. Yes I've heard the album.. never heard such a load of crap in all my life. :p

    NB
On another note, did anyone see the top 50 artists in terms of singles sales last night?

It goes to show how many high selling artists should have made it onto the top 25 lists that didnt.

hehehe. That was funny when he was number 1.

Unbelievable, the guy has outsold the beatles and elvis in the UK singles market.

I was going to write something about this once before but never got round to it. The Streets - like Eminem - is very witty in a rather self-absorbed kind of way; the actual musical content, at least in terms of what in my view constitutes music, is near-zero. Personally that's not really my thing, though obviously it works for many people.

Hmm yeah...I liked the first album but I don't think his style has much mileage. I won't be buying his latest album.

I think his latest is better than the first, much more ambitious. Ignore "Dry Your Eyes", it's been overplayed, and, outside the context of the rest of the album, comes across as sentimental. The lad's a great poet, with a fantastic eye for detail, the record's full of surprising and truthful micro-observations that are the work of someone who quite obviously knows how to use language creatively. Musically it isn't particularly interesting, but it's still a great record.

I prefered the first one personally, the second is good but just seems like more of the same. I think the music is interesting enough, its pretty sparse as the lyrics are the important bit, but theres lots of moving about and volume swells with the strings etc. and who got the funk? is ... well, funky.
