Blimey AT...apple juice and grapes is going to leave you feeling hungry. Simple as that. The phrase 'Healthy Eating' contains the word 'Eating' for a reason. Its not about fasting. Don't get the idea that healthy eating limits what you can eat. Heres some healthy ish meals you can eat for lunch.

    Beans on toast.
Jacket spud, beans cheese and salad. Remember...a sliced tomato with some salt and pepper on will do as a salad.
A sandwich with cheese and tomato and a banana to follow (or any other piece of fruit)
    Homemade soup and bread.

Better if you can get a decent loaf of course but if not the baked on the premises loafs in supermarkets are better than the ready sliced ones in the packets. Generally tastier at least.

I was reading an extract from G. Brandreth's book about the Royal Family this w/e.

Stuck for something to say during a long & awkward silence with HM, and appropos of nothing at all, he babbled: "My wife is a vegetarian". Her reply was: "That must be very dull."

Fair enough, I'm sure her razor sharp quip would raise a haughty guffaw from many people, but to say 'Vegetarianism is dull' is as outdated as the monarchy.
Still, I'm glad you, and probably Jeremy Clarkson, had a chortle at least.

What vegetarians overlook sometimes, is that their very exciting cuisine is also fully available to omnivores. Homo Sapiens is a natural omnivore, therefore vegetarianism is a perversion against nature.

Maybe but they way humans go about getting meat is even more of a perversion ;)

The other thing is that humans have quite a long digestive trail so doesn’t that put us more on the vegi side of things? Our ‘ripping’ teeth are not exactly that big either.

I looked on our packets of ready bread mix and it has yeast so t seems quite good :)

I think many meat eaters overlook the fact that modern meat production methods are a perversion against nature.

I don't really rate your argument I'm afraid. Its also reminds me of the weak argument against homsexuality used by religious folk.

I mind what you eat as much as I mind what stands/hi-fi/car, etc you have.

It's not worth arguing about, and it was only a little anecdote in the first place.

I've just come back from hols in Cyprus - a land where vegetables and salad actually have taste and also come in different sizes !! The immense joy of not seeing Tesco or Sainsburys or some other huge supermarket around every corner. Only been back a couple of days, so easy to slip back into shite eating habits I must say.

Just caught up on this thread and thanks for some very enlightening info Garyi.

I have been eating fruit for the breakfast for the last couple of days now. I have breakfast about 7:15am and I am only just about hungry at about 12:30. Before when I was eating mostly junk I am sure I got hungery more easily.

I have never been a big eater though, in McDonalds for example two hamburgers would fill me up where my mates were having a large bigcrap and a load of fries.
