I passed my driving test today :)

Yep.

That looks very nice. Clean.

Can see why you went to for it.

Watch what those mods do to your ins tho'.

Oh and I saw a 'chip mod' that apparently ups it to 132bhp and 278Nm of torque...

9 months of lessons, lots of practice, feeling ready, booking the test made me reaslise I was actually ready and I was just delaying because I was scared!

Simon, I was just thinking, do consider doing the IAM course, even if decide you don't want to take the test.

Its a very relaxed style (IMO) once you've got into it. The only reservation I have as (as i've said before) is that it gets a bit OTT.

Froma personal POV it takes me 10 mins or so to get into the swing of it, by which time I've normally got to where I am going. On a longer run its very satisfying tho'.

The thing to do is to take what you want from the course.

(I made the mistake of trying to bolt it on top of my existing experince and I think its better to go with the attitude of starting again totally....but thats if you want to pass the exam)

Today I did some work on the car with my Dad lending advice. I feel quite good as I learned a lot. I changed the back brake pads, adjusted the hand brake, changed the accelerator cable and cured some rust spots ready for paint. The accelerator feels much smoother now :)

Tomorrow I want to change the clutch cable.

I suggest you then bolt on a pair of mofo turbo chargers, ramp up the compression and remap the ecu. Then add some aero mods and wait for the girls to flock to you!

David was already mentioned it watch the insurance. A few lads of a Corsa forum have been done for it. You need to declare any mod otherwise the insurance company could refuse to pay out.

Looks like a nice car :)

I don't plan to mod it, just get it working optimally. One turbo is enough for me!

Actually I doubt girls care what is under the lid, so if you want girls, just get all the body kit. Today a yellow body-kitted Nissan (I think) came down the street and a couple of teenage girls called out "I like your car.., and I like you too!"

If I was you I'd be getting to know your local mechanic(s).

Usually you need specialist tools to do stuff, often anyway. With my tranny connect one look under the bonnet shows there is no rooom what so ever. I changed the oil+filter on the last escort but I wouldn't do this one.

Componants are pretty good these days. Bits should last between 12,000 mile services. I had mine done just before xmas, didn't need anything.

They most certainly will if they discover it.

Couild be a dear buisiness if you happen to knock over some old gran.

:(

My Dad has most specialist tools, so not a problem. I'll attempt a clutch cable change now!

Progress report: 3 hours in and I just managed to get the old cable out. Mother fucking piece of shit!! Pug obviously installed the air con and exhaust AFTER the clutch cable.

I hope I can get the new one in!

Nick, she has friends. Add me on Facebook and you can browse the catalogue lol.
