Good stuff, It's 90% the performance of the hydra, at a sensible money, best not let you listen to the 'ongoing version' then :D
IT also does a cracking job on the digital too. Wm

Is the item in question a closely guarded secret or would one of you care to spill the beans?

Martin, you will see it in the fulliness of time, it's still being prefected, but surfice to say, it will be worth the wait (imho) as all this stuff is baloney & has no disconcernable effect what so ever. :) Wm

I was exceptionally lucky when I imported my CDT-2. I had the receptionist at work have DHL pick it up in Hungary and have it delivered to the office. This was about a year ago and the work never billed me for it or have me pay the additional cost (Import Duty etc.). The best part is, they made me redundant so aside from the relevant redundancy payment, they still never charged me :D .

    I saved 600 euroids :guiness:.

I've always wondered though; is it possible to have the unit marked as "Repair/Upgrade for existing owner." by the sender, so that it would appear as if the tax had already been paid when previously imported ?

    Or am I ethically challenged.

I notice original post had 'meridian 500' transport in hardware list.

Is that the component being upgraded?

Im going to be buying a second hand one of these (pref v2 with balanced in/out) in Feb. My max budget is 500 pounds.

If that one's for sale in my budget, or any of you gents see one in Feb (not yet!) for that cash or less let me know?

    Cheers
    Chris

Has anybody tried using the USPS 'send money' electronic funds transfer system and the 'pay@delivery' service. It looks like a very good form of escrow, but it's not clear from the website if the service is available outside the US.

    send money

    pay@delivery

Import taxes and VAT and so on make me SOOOooOOoo angery!!!

I am thinking of importing some speakers from the US and they are going to cost about £1,500 so I hope I can get the guy to say their value is far less when he sends them!

Stereo amplifiers are taxed at 4% I'm sure if that. However, if you geta form that states the country of origen it will not be charged. It is called a GSP certificate.

    Yaboo/Voodoo ...any news?

My Gyro/Orbe is going on e-bay this week, and when flogged I will be buying a meridian 500 v2 transport. Probably be looking in about 14 days or so.

Hope you guys still intend to buy/sell!. We could have our own little chain of swaps going on..like a property chain! :D
