Wow................................
Congratulations on your new purchase Andy, are you going to tell the missis or am I I know of a good lawyer if you need one, but it will be cheaper to sell your ATC :MILD: Or maybe that extension will be used for something else, it will be a very large spare room :JPS:
Update: Been running the 250Ti's for just an hour and it's clear they are definitely something special. The word "presence" comes to mind. With rock/rythym type music there's a weight to the sound that I have never heard with any of the English designs I have had. The JBL's are happily running in my 13 x 13ft study and not getting any big issues with room modes To any pop, rock, groove fans out there....seriously consider buying some second hand JBL's (250 or 240Ti's) and a Bryston amp and have some serious fun for less than £2k.
She was shocked at first when she saw them. I pretended to be shocked at the size of them myself Anyway, this afternoon she comes in the room and says she's getting used to them and actually likes them. Just gave a mate a blast of them tonight and played some tracks he new realy well. He was stunned at all the detail he was hearing, particularly percussion. I mean "glued to his seat for an hour" amazed!!
I had a friend over last night and he was literally glued to his seat for an hour listening to familiar tracks on them. What JBL does for percussion really is something special. Snare drums have a lifelike "weight" that I have never heard before. I think the key is the use of the 8" lower-mid covering 400Hz to 1400Hz.
