I count 35 so far! with confirmed numbers, with SCIDB, hippy and other peoples figures added on, we must surely be over 50.

    NB
I gave simply vinyl and diverse vinyl a call.

Simply vinyl said 'were cheap enough already' so they can kiss my hairy white arse. Diverse Vinyl - sounds a lot more promising.. he is coming back with discounts for various quanitites....e.g. discounted prices for 50, 75, 100 etc.

Have a look if you want... http://www.diversevinyl.com/htm/home.php

Im hoping he's going to come back with something good, as this is a great company to deal with - quick turnaround, large stock count and the album I got was one of their own recordings.. (alison krauss - new favorite) and the sound quality is first rate.

If they arent cheap enough though, plenty other fish in the sea! :)

    Keep em coming!

With Ilyocker thats 40 I count.

Still waiting for a quantity from Dean, Hippy and a couple others. C'mon chaps we need scores on the doors :)

Penance - 'new favorite' is an album she recorded with union station. Its a studio album par excellance!. Diverse Vinyl I believe re-mastered it and released it on 180g vinyl. God bless em. -its in my top 10 of bestest albums by anyone ever in fact..

Thanks for pointing this out Chris!

Count me in, but not for SV, as I went for the 6 for £50 prior to Xmas, and some of the transfers are average to say the least:(

Diverse sounds cool, but I was looking at ElusiveDisc in the US the otherday, and with the exchage rate as it is, some of those deals look mighty tempting. Would you consider approaching them?

    Elusive disc

    Hi Chris,

    Put me down for 10.

Maybe more, it depends on what sort of discount we can get from Diverse Vinyl. Looking at the catalogue, there is plenty to go at but some of the prices are not the cheapest. I have got some the the titles at Fopp for a lot less.

I will have 10 good ones from the list as I have heard good things about DiverseVinyl.

I too Have heard mixed things about Simply vinyl. They don't always use the original Master tapes so the quality can be hit or miss. Having said that, they never claim to be Audiophile quality. A lot of their customers are not hifi buffs.

Michael (Merlin) may be on to something with looking at some of the US sites.

Also have you looked at these examples of Uk & US sites.

Vivante. Sundazed Elusive Disc & Rhino.

Diverse vinyl has some great stuff on the list though. Did you notice the Jack Rose lp sideshowbob?

    Ok!!!

Merlin - Im putting you down for 5...sound ok?

    Which makes 60.

One evening this week I will email Diverse Vinyl, and also a couple of the best looking other places I can find.

If you guys can put some links up to places that you think are good bets let me know. UK, US, whatever really. Especially helpful if youve used them before and can say a little about them

    :) wahey

    Well, dissapointing news (I think).

Diverse Vinyl will do 10% reduction only.

I honestly dont think thats enough of a saving to bother.

If anyone knows of a shop we could approach that also has its lists on the internet and does mail order, we can try them.

I do believe though, with 60+ confirmed LP orders, we should be able to do a LOT better than that.

Perhaps we would be a bigger catch to a smaller fish.

Over to you guys, where should we try?

Sid and Coke is all ears, although I'm only really interested in Rock and Pop ( mostly rock) . New releases and back catalogue stuff.

It might be worth giving Fopp a ring. As somebody else has mentioned they quite often have some seriously cheap Vinyl, the problem for me is thet my nearest shops are Edinburgh at about 50 miles and Glasgow at about 75 miles.

To give an idea of prices i recently picked up :
Richard Ashcroft - Human Cond £5
    Gorillaz- Gorillaz - £7
Offspring- Consiracy of one - £1
Inspiral Carpets- The singles - £5
Fun Lovin Criminals - Loco £5
    Limp Bizkit- Chocky starfish... -£5

All albums brand new, some double gatefold, and I like all of them, getting a nice s/h record is good but you just can beat playing a new record, as first user, for the first time ( once you've wet/vac cleaned it to shed the static).
