Thanks Rob. Very nice, almost therapeutic.
Dev - it may be a characterstic of the 6550's (KT88's seem to have a similar glow). Such a long shutter exposure does tend to bring out the blue though, they're not that vivid in real life. The pic was taken whilst the room was in almost complete darkness, bar a very small table lamp in the next room (with the connecting door open). The EL84's on my KEL are just the lovely 'come home to a real fire' orange glow. Will try and take some pictures of the wee'un later.
...ah just wait till, you see my Trilogy 958's - phwoar! :mana: will see if I can get some cheesecake shots tonight! Great shot you got there Gromit!
Hybrid integrated amplifier with a single 6922 tube plate loaded to a dual set of FET's... 100 watts of sweet power! The Valve Audio Exclame 100 - hand crafted in South Africa
It is indeed GD - approx 8 sec exposure and 'pull' the zoom in. Didn't work as well as hoped as I've lost the SLR mount adaptor for my tripod (got the camera resting on a pile of books). As a result it's a bit jerky.
Hi Dev, It looks that way. Definitive audio, who do Kondo, are selling them. Also I'm sure Peter Qvortrup used to import these in the late 80s early 90s. SCIDB
These are my current power amps - 40wpc OTL monoblocks from a small Chinese company, lovingly rebuilt and serviced by vintage experts Champ Audio here in the UK. Wonderful things!
