I've bought most of christmas presents already so haven't even got that excuse. I spent a conservative £65. Unfortunately that budget wouldn't quite let me squeeze any phil collins in. Ah well, theres always next time...

Dont know if anyone's mentioned the Beastie Boys, they're pretty cool, in an uncool sort of way. Paul's Boutique is their best I think.

Beastie Boys, uncool?! Never! The Sounds of Science compilation is a good way to figure out what they're about, really easy to spot their groove. There aren't many people who can blend so many styles together so effortlessly.

The Beastie Boys are and have ALWAYS been superb IMO. I literally wore out "Licensed To Ill". Ignoring all the dull "controversy" which surrounded their first UK tour in the tabloids, they have always ploughed their own furrow and done it well. I dont care if they are from white middle class families that's irrelevant.

has anyone heard (or heard of) Def Harmonic? Thats one of the best things I've found in recent years. Quite 'old school' sounding, big bass line and a few west coast wobbly synths over the top with great lyrics, including a fantastic Dylan cover on the LP Embrace. The EP is also very much worth having. Check that sht out yo!
