You're not wrong there! I got this (and the rest!) on Friday from Fopp, after perusing this thread. Brilliant album, and svefn-g-englar is... well, awesome!

Dude, just listen to this at night, with all the lights off - completely shut yourself out from all sensory intrusion and focus on the music.

The more you concentrate whilst listening to this, the better.

Breathtaking stuff IMO. I stand by my previous comments that this is their best work.

    Hello

If "Agaetis Byrjun" and "BBTKDD" are as good as "()" and "Takk" then they will go on the Xmas list asap. I got Takk a few weeks ago and I was listening to the first few tracks last night and was really impressed, have heard the LP a few times but it hadn't quite sunk in yet. Suited the late night, in-the-dark mood very well. Can't comment on the lyrics as I don't know Icelandic, but music-wise it reminds me of a more mellow, less electric Spiritualized, what with the strings, brass, tunes etc. I can see what people mean about it sounding similar/influenced by MBV and Part.

In short, I really like them.

After an evening with Agaetis Byrjun I personally think its better than Takk, its seems an efortless piece of music that somehow managesto fill the room. Should get ba ba tomoz.

I see they're playing at the hammersmoth apollo soon. Guess they could be a bit dull live though?

I've heard they're great live. That's what first brung them to a friends attention, which in turn led to him praising them to me.

Someone else I know recently caught them in Paris and said it was excellent. Hard to describe, but very enjoyable.

Sigur Ros still make me shiver and want to lie face down in a puddle of peat! I love them and TAKK on heavy plastic through my humble wee system has brought many folks to tears recently.

Fox is right about Amiina also ....they are lovely.

I prefer 'how strange innocence' to my Sigur Ross albums.
