I have used this cable very successfully on three Tag McLaren home cinema systems both in single and bi-wired form and at approx £15 inc postage for 15m it is a serious bargain!

    12 awg Silver Plated Wire

I terminate this with Eichmann Bayonet Plugs and it sounds fantastic!

I owned it, sold it off and then after a few months re-bought it. Tried different types in the same price ranged before and during the first period of owning. In comparison everything else sounded less natural, organic, spacious, smooth and most of all less musical then this wonderful cable.

Note that if the amp used has difficulties to control the speakers, it might enforce any bloated bass.

Hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do, Mr. Cat. :)

Hope you're not going to miss them Legzr1.

    thanks for that review... :D

Legzr1 has upgraded to - Nordost Red Dawn Rev II

I shouldn't have any probs with the amp controlling the speaker either...with it being bi-amped

    cheers

Not really an upgrade as such, more of a 'different sound' - I like it 'hard and edgy' for some reason :)

What does Feedback (1) mean BTW? ;)

    Great.
Hope you like the sound (I suspect you will ;) ).
    I estimated postage @ £10.
It was only £6.95 so I owe you a pint :)

    no probs about that..!

I spoke to sevenoaks regarding the cost of making the cables into 4*4 - they said it'll cost upto 20 quid...I may even try myself as I have some plugs in the house...not sure yet...I guess I'll be too each tho..sigh...!!

I've just heard back from Linton and they've quoted 47 quid - which I guess maybe to a better standard...can anyone confirm this..?

if thats the case - I may just do the job myself (as an interim measure) with some screw on profigold banana plugs then get the job done properly come next pay day...I don't mind the fact that the cable will be shortened as the ideal length I'd like is 2.5m-3m (these are 3.5m)...

    any thoughts on this..?

    cheers

£20 isn't bad when you realise what a complete b*****d this cable is to terminate.
Thats the reason I went to Lintone to get them done as bi-wire (cost a damn site more that £20 too !)
Van Den Hul recommend 'professional' termination - well, they would wouldn't they ;)

Why not try just cutting the plugs off the 'commoned' end, bare the wires a little and use it like that to trial. If you're happy with the results then get them terminated?

    Either way,best of luck mate.

EDITED : It was Lintone that originally terminated this cable so don't expect a better job !! (unless you meant better than Sevenoaks).
As to the length - it might be an idea to twist the pairs together (Van den Hul Recommend this) which will lose a bit of length - just something to think about before you go lopping 0.5M off ;)

cheers - first off - I meant better than sevenoaks!! :D - they're spot on as they are now...thats why I'm inclined to go back to Lintone as I guess they'll do the same job and as an interim I can make do with the profigold jobbies...

anyway, I dare say I'll do some chopping tonight...it'll be soooo tempting! :D

    well....done a bit of chopping and i've bi-amped them and wow...sound great!

lot more seperation and clarity - i dare say they'll sound even better when they've burned in a bit - as I'm not sure since they were last used... ;)
