Stevens and Billington TX102

I am interetsed in a pair possibly - dependent upon when 3d gets the time to dem for me ;-)

Well if he is going to the effort of demoing them to you, you should buy one of his :p

...especially as he won't let me borrow it to try it out...

Well I am not sure if he was selling me one or not!

To be clear, due to my tie-in with Real-HiFi and to a smaller degree with Stevens & Billington / Music First Audio I could of course obtain any of the respective products.

BUT Real-HiFi has a strict policy of not undercutting our dealers and hence you might as well go to a dealer for a full demo, some free Wine (at least if you go to Walrus) and all that, and you might get some discount or trade-in from the dealer We/I would not be able to offer directly.

Past that, apologies, but have not been well for the last few weeks (first bad food poisoning and now a bad flu) so forgive me for not having asked you over....

Ciao T

Thats what I thought - hence the offer was just for a demo and hence my response to tenson. Walrus will only have the copper S&B and I wanted to compare amorphous with copper with silver - no rush of course! Hope you get well soon!

You could take your Djago over to walrus and compare....

As for silver Passive Pre's, they are in notoriously short supply, I have been unable to get one for myself, when testing in a show demo system I personally felt that I preferred marginally the copper version, matter of taste.

Oh I thought you had a silver one too - what did you think the difference was between SB copper and AM?

The AM ones are more opaque, they make the overall sound more laid back and they seem to swallow small details. This is very much the effect we had (less strong though) when we included20% steel in the core of some test samples of the 102.

The problem with "amorphous" is that there is a wide range of metal alloys that fall under the umbrella term "amorphous" and pure Iron remains pure iron no matter what else you do with it and the BH curves remain the same.

Closing date is Monday. I think I have 20 orders now.

Please can everyone who is definitely going to have a pair email me at simon @ kentuk .net

Anyone else want some? I have not got as many emails as I had people saying they were interested online. I really need one more order.

Did you get my email (sent yesterday) asking about the TX103 step up transformers? I didn't get a reply from you so I'm not sure if it got through.

Heath

Hi Heath, yeah I did thanks! Sorry I didn't reply.

Dev, did you want a pair? Markus, heard from your friend yet?
