i have an AA5+, missing the additional A for Avondale, and will go for the mod when i have the £375 spare. it sounds like a no brainer for a cd player i've had for 9 years now. it's not the player in my main sistem, but it could become so.

    .
I can understand this, too. PFM can still feel cliquey at times (Enlightened Harbethian vs ATC o'saurus comes to mind).
My original comment was not meant as a slight on ZG, more as a reflection on the nature of audio forums..

These really are great speakers, and if you get a chance grab a listen. They do have a flaw in the treble, and like Hamlet, I can't decide if it's fatal or not. The interesting thing, as Merlin has pointed out on several occasions, is that they don't go below 40hz, and yet they really "do" bass...
One day I'm going to come home with a pair.

Having heard his subs and being amazed by the bass quality, I can certainly believe that. As we were trying to say on another thread recently, you cant beat a good pair of big 'uns.

:D :D I take it "the other half" is still in bed after drowning her sorrows Neil.

I will look out for it Joel, thanks. I'm going through a Jamaican phase at the moment - building my collection of classic Dub, Reggae, Rocksteady and Ska. Ah the memories come flooding back:)

    hi mike

you might want to try to get yourself to your nearest FOPP in your travels.

They currently have a sale on Trojan. Just for the benefit of those who may not know, Trojan is a label that specialises in reggae, ska etc.

Most of the Trojan box cd's are a fiver each there. They also have some of them on LP, but these are dearer.

I think theres a FOPP in London now. My nearest is Leamington Spa. The FOPP site tells you their locations..
