£20 from argos. Then £480 paying various bills...

Or is this not meant to be realistic?

Mark, do you know the first prize is a ban from this forum for an unspecified period?

I can't ban you from upgraditis I'm afraid. If I could, I'll be the first one in the queue.:)

Or a DAC for your Squeezebox (SB1) which will improve it no end, my suggestions would be either a NOS DAC (£120ish) or a Meridian 203 (old but surprisingly good - £90-£120 s/h)

I'll add the MF X-ACT DAC to that list - I got mine for about £90 (inc. P&P) off eBay and it's made a considerable difference when partnered with my NAD C521BEE CD player. I was pleasently surprised that an 8 or 9 year old DAC could be much an improvement over the DAC in the CD player. There is definately more detail revealed from CDs.

eventually me and the other mods will get off our lazy butts and award the prizes..

We got it down to 2 people, but the points were equal and we couldnt split it.

We then forgot about it! oops

What is the prize? It's not really being black listed I hope :O

I might try my hand if the prize is good!

2 people got exactly the same score, and we couldnt think of a way to seperate it, so have decided to say there are 2 winners!

So, congratulations to TonyL and AndrewS for both putting together the best systems for the money (in our humble opinion)

We have a selection of fun prizes, which TonyL and AndrewS can pick from, if they so desire!

    1) silver anniversary cable
    2) a handheld colour scanner
    3) FFRC
    4) carbon fibre equipment supports
    5) RDC cones
