Nando Hi, well the cartridge is on, and everything more or less set, tracking at 1.9 on the Dyna , still waiting for a couple of phono stages so, I am going to experiment with my Amarra Model 5 dac, I can plug the tonearm leads directly into the 5 I have created the RIAA curve in the digital domain, then back into analogue.
The lead I have has no loading so If the experiment goes well I may have some more leads made wth different resistance.
    VB Keith.

Should be interesting , RIAA in digital is no easy thing to pull off well.

Si, the curve is preset in the MIO panel, although you can make your own or recreate one of the pre RIAA standard curves if you wish,

Si Hi, yes Dynavector XV1-s which is medium MC output, straight into the Mic pres of the Model 5 , I am having a couple of lead made up with various loading, also I need to have another look at the arm/cart set-up ( now that I know how the VTA and Azimuth work !)

Si yes that is correct, VTA adjusts from the top, ( near where the tonearm wire exits) apparently the pivot point doesn't change though, and Azimuth through the side of the counterweight, so the whole arm tilts, I wil check everything and finally adjust the bias, vb Keith.

Set up the arm/cart properly and increased the resistance in the tonearm leads, the turntable sounds fantastic, timbre ,tone far more resolution than I had with my old valve set up, a lot more low level and H/F information, extremely quiet and extremely dynamic, phono stage and preamp arrive next weekish, I am anticipating an interesting comparison.
