    Im cetainly not as good on TT's as Dean (or TonyL or lots of other people!) but Id seen it around.

    I believe it was launched at CES in 2001 with a telephone number price tag.

    Assuming its the motor and not just a psu that looks like a motor, where and how does it transfer drive? It looks too low

    It looks like theres a flywheel underneath the platter on the left. There appears to be a belt going from the motor to the flywheel (but only on one side?). I suspect its been cropped in the photograph

    I assumed that was a cable? If you look to the right theres another bit curled up under the motor thing, otherwise it looks the belt has fallen off or broken. Also looks like theres something or other round the main platter thing. Weird design whatever it is, looks kind of like the SME30 idea only not as good imo
