I don't want to think about what my hifi is worth second hand

I get a divide by zero error on the car thing (don't have one).

The value of the music collection considerably exceeds that of the hi-fi, but I've got far too many records and CDs to try and work it out exactly (or even approximately).

Hifi retail to car retail about 0.13
Hifi retail to car current about 0.4

Problem is I'm a petrolhead aswell as an audiophile :) . I'm fortunate enough to be able to indulge both hobbies.

    No car.

I'd imagine RRP on my music collection would be MOre than my hifi. As it should be :)

I've got the Fabia vRS, so it can go up from 130+ to about 190 bhp with a remap, and up from 230 lb ft of torque to 325 lb ft :JPS:

Wont be for a while, but never say never, but I have to say, even as standard, it is a seriously quick car ;)

What about you? You gonna have it done? :D

Haha nice one, the Octy is a great Q-car, perhaps the Fabia will become a barry boy car, but I hope not. I am not in any rush for remap, but then I dont take it on tracks, and its huge torque (more than a Boxster S) ensures that not many cars will lose me on a motorway and overtaking is a piece of piss :D

Infinity here too - although my hifi to BIKE (as in push bike) quotient is probably quite high - I guess my hifi/av kit is worth about 8k so a guestimate is 24:1

Steve - are you valuing your speakers at what they cost you or what you sell them to the public at? :D

Re: Re: What's your Hi-Fi Motor Quotient?

Well, much as I love my speakers, I must confess that they need other equipment to work at their best - power amp(s), pre-amp, turntable, phono stage, cdp, supports, cables, snake-oil.

I tend to estimate a likely 'current value' of the whole.

PS: Have you seen my car?
