I think you mean Rated R. Its a damn fine album - almost as good as Songs for the Deaf. Quite different tho.

    wow talk about thread resurrection!

the last QOTSA was a bit shite - sold out if you ask me. If the new one is a return to form then brill.
New Kings of Leon is SUPERB!.
Arctic monkeys is......ok. I still like em, but I doubt a 3rd album os the same would work.

look no further than John Smith
    here :http://www.myspace.com/johnacousticsmith

watch the videos, he does this Dobro picky thing where he kind of beats the guitar up, amazing, I saw him play at the Royal Albert hall supporting John Martyn he was way better than him and stole the show I think. the album is great too.

oh and try The Divine Comedy, Neil Hannon is a genius. :)
regeneration is the most guitar orientated, try absent friends and also try victory for the comic muse, (the new one) but all of them are top albums, "promenade" being my favorite.

also have you tried Martha wainwright? a bit country (ish) but darn good songs and a load of guitar. :)

    both are on my space.

not guitar, but if you want a bit of fun look up hyperbubble, they are sort of electro pop for the new millennium, outstanding !

I play slide guitar - one time professionally - these days for fun and sometimes with ex Jeff Beck keyboard player Max Middleton. Just thought (ahem) I'd drop in something you may not know about larkrise!!

For guitar music I highly recommend John Mayer. Continuum his most recent album is excellent. His live album Try with the John Mayer Trio is good too :)

His performance at this year's Grammys gives me chills every time I watch it :mana:

Obviously heavily influenced by SRV :)

    Blues guitar

If you like modern blues based rock then listen (or better go and see) Joe Bonamassa. He really is very good.
