I think the biggest problem with Will Young and his ilk, is that the A&R men (or women, thank you brother, or sister) now where was I, ah yes the A&R people are unwilling to discover new talent when they can 'discover' talent on these audition shows. Which is ok by them because at the end of it they are guaranteed a success - at least in the short term - because the public has voted for them.

How many of these 'pop stars' will we remember in 20 years, not many I'd say.

I wouldn't bet on it! They probably earn enough to be reasonably ok, but it won't make them millions - the management gets the biggest cut.

 

No doubt managers, song writers and the entire *team* behind them will take a big cut, but i'm sure Will Young is on MOre than £150 a week!

I'm sure Ian gives him MOre than that for "favours"
