Yes they would need a lot of dogs, but then its not like dogs are in short supply, its just the presence of such methods that might make the difference, they not knowing if they'll encounter a sniffer dog or not, a deterrent if you will.

Yes but why treat these people like humans, they don't behave like humans. Yes I agree our justice system has to be correct and find the right people guilty, but once done, beyond a shadow of a doubt, then there should be no going back, no deals with their contry for release, in for life.

Yes but its the right community service though, not doing the garden for the OAP's for 1/2 a day, I mean real hard graft, long working hours, etc.

maybe everyone should have their own sniffer dog. In fact you could use the mess they make to power the tube train. or even better if there was enough of them , once they'd had a sniff around they could pull the train along , huskie style.

what about making these people once caught train and work as doctors? I mean doctors do long working hours and are engaged in public spirited work. In between shifts they could garden for OAP'

The death penalty has no place in a modern society IMO.

As much as its a great idea to implement dogs, increase cctv etc etc the practical implementation and the cost is huge. Just think of potential targets; London, Brum, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool etc plus all the potential targets within those places. I think we have to accept that as a free nation we will always be exposed to acts of terrorism. Lets face it, we're talking about someone leaving a rucksack or a shopping bag in a crowded place and no doubt they'll get even smarter with their implementations. If they keep trying they'll get through eventually.

Yes they are! Not just any old dog will do, you might be surprised by how difficult it is to find the right dogs and how rigorous the training is (not just for the dog). Many dogs that pass initial selection don't cut so don't get licsensed. A bomb dog wont find drugs or vice versa, a drug dog gets giddy and excited and paws and jumps a lot when they find drugs as you can imagine this is not a good trait in a bomb dog! Crowd control dogs are different again.

How do I know this? My gf's father is the man who liscenses all dogs in West Yorkshire, he also is away for 2 weeks every year searching for suitable dogs and may only find a couple. As a top trainer its rare he actually goes out, usually saved for top events like royalty/politician visits (he was required for G8) but even he is on call night and day at the moment.

Put a Cat on every street corner and EVERYTHING will be observed. They are so quick and keen. Link them by wireless internet and you have a total solution. If something looks like its going down then Ninja Cats can be dropped in by parachute to ambush the terrorists before harm is done.
