Bub - possibly as you have only compared with multiple systems comprised of arcam and rega? Bass isnt the problem its the midrange. It may be famous but clearly there are some performance issues.

WM - you havent heard my system yet, nor most of the components so in all honesty you should withhold judgement (and naughty name calling!). The ATC midrange dome driver is world-famous, and not for "crapness" reasons. Pick another target, that's a "miss".
