Interesting... I am thinking of becoming a dealer of ATC active speakers. How about a match with NAIM? * running away *

Garmt, lots of people do that, and why not.

Check out Adam and PMC aswell. Nice to give people a choice I always think.

The Tensor Alpha looks like a real beast.

    Like it.

The magic with ADAM monitors appears (from what I'm reading) to be in the mid range ribbon.

the midrange ribbon sounds interesting and i would love to hear that. i had recently a long session with some hi-tech ELAC speakers with ribbon tweeters and although the overall sound irritated me a bit for another reasons (i prefer old school speakers), i was really impressed with the HF performance, especially with the dispersion. one of the widest sweet spots i've ever experienced - thanks to the ribbon i guess.

Sadly, judging by most of the air motion transformers (like the ADAM tweeters) I have seen, the dispersion is very limited in the high frequencies. On the other hand distortion is REALLY low. Decay is pretty good too.

Most people strive for realism with their systems but when it is heard through excellent 'speakers like ATC they disapprove, saying 'too real.' Blame the source not the 'speakers.

    Hehe.

I see one model was awarded a score of 19/20 in one of the hifi mags. They must have impressed greatly with that near perfect score.

They can be persuasive. I generally take note when several mags give praise to a component, not just the one. I've always thought that a good piece of kit will sell itself. Take the Pure Sound A30 amp. It doesn't have the financial backing and promotional budget of the big guns but seems to have built quite a reputation.

I see the ATC zealots are out in force!

if you dont like ATC, the rest of your system is crap my arse.

ATC speakers are fine, but they are not the one true way.....

Moderators, can you open "For ATC Zealots Only" or "The Church of ATC" sub-forum please.

We need a prayer room here at ZG.

It seems to me that the ATC bashers and ATC fans are quite equal in numbers and just as vocal. I suspect that each camp has their respective views polarised and strengthened through feeding off the opinions opposite to their own. That can be the only reason why these gay arguments happen.

Think there'll ever be a day when we all learn not to give a shit about others opinions on kit we own?
