This morning so far:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Nocturama
Sly & The Family Stone - Life

Anyone listened to Nick Cave's last album 'Dig Lazarus Dig'? Any thoughts?

Good choice Snapdragon - I love "The teachers are afraid of the pupils". Cracking album, very underrated in the Morrissey canon I feel.

Agree with both comments Corruption.

And to think there's still stuff of his I haven't gotten to yet... Then add The Smiths albums...

Well if you haven't heard anything by The Smiths yet I envy you tremendously - some of the best music ever written in my opinion. Whilst many (rightly) praise the writing talents of Morrissey and Marr, listen closely for the contibutions of the Bassist and Drummer (Rourke and Joyce) - surely the best rhythm section in English music history...

I can't disagree with you SMEagol, it's terrific. Meat is Murder will always be their best album for me though... I want the one I can't have, Well I wonder and That joke isn't funny anymore - all still manage to send shivers down my spine. I also recommend their first album - several lesser-known gems on there too...

Oh, I've heard a lot of their stuff, just haven't bought it all yet =)

That joke isn't funny anymore is the first song of theirs I heard when in a music store. Heard Morrissey's voice and thought, why have I NOT heard this before... Turns out it was a Smiths best of album playing, that I bought that day.

Big mouth strikes again, what difference does it make, shoplifters of the world unite, how soon is now?, etc, etc.

Awesome.

Ha! I listened to Purple Rain the other day too.

I had 'Counterparts' by Rush on last night and I had a singles session the night before. Everything from an original 7" Dave Brubeck Take Five to Into the Valley by Skids and Ever so Lonely by Monsoon and so on....

All sounding just great!

Like Fleet foxes too Corruption

But, Derrick May's -'6-Mix' on Iplayer at the moment, absolutely class.

As was Ian Levine's Northern Soul Takeover 6 Mix and every one that Andy Wetherall does too.

Recently played 'The Game' by Queen and was impressed esp. by 'Another one bites the dust'..
This p.m. listening to 'Waiting for the Sun' (the Doors)..Lightnin' Hopkins (epon.) on Saga ...

At the moment I'm listening to Rhihanna

Jane Siberry - Bound by the Beauty.
Miles Davis - Tutu
Camel - Stationery Traveller.

Caron.
Jane Siberry fan present. I think her expressionism is well suited to jazz and that is realized on Maria. Fine supporting cast of players. If You Go from this slays me.
