Currently Spinning

U.N.K.L.E. : "Do Androids dream of electric beats."

Whilst wearing rubber gloves and cleanign the toilet :p .

I just bought some new speakers (B&W 704) and whilst auditioning them the dealer played a cd of Derrin Nauendorf's called "Live at the Boardwalk".

I'd never heard of the artist nevermind the album, anyone know of this guy?.

I'm wondering if its one of those cd's dealers love to use for dem purposes as it seems very well produced.

Mind, the dealer did give me a copy anyway.

If you like well played guitar, give it a spin.

Good Choice :D .

Chris, I recently picked a couple of good Northern Soul compilations quite cheaply.

"After Hours - Nothern Soul Masters" : Various.
"Northern Soul Floorshakers!" : Various.

A mixed bag of styles but a decent entry point :) .

Some great dance tunes in there as well.

Cheers,

Steve

"POP" : u2
"(Turn it over)" : The Tony Williams Lifetime

(The Tony Williams disc ain't really one for the g/f.)

Gold Frapp Felt MOuntain

Thought I best give it another chance. It's not that I didn't like it, just wasn't what I was hoping for.....

Hmmm, found that one a bit too Chill Out for my liking.
"Black Cherry" on the other hand.........:mana:.

I think that's the same as what I found.

I'd heard a mate playing them a few times and thought they sounded quite good. A sort of middle ground between Portishead and Lamb.
Got a copy of Felt MOuntain (wasn't sure which one it was I'd heard), and erm...... well it's good for what it is, just not what I was hoping for.

Mike B is a bit of a fan (see "the worst follow up record" thread). And says he prefers felt MOuntain and thought the other was a let down. Perhaps it's just because I came to it expecting something different.
