    Well, despite my love of panels in case I can't accomodate them in the new abode, the Nighthawks would be top of the shortlist from the cone alternatives camp. :)

    Interesting afternoon,

    Been swapping between the Dyn's and Meadowlarks with various types of music.
    The Dyns sound more natural and faster, more attention grabbing. Much more detail coming through with the Dyns aswell.
    The Kestrels win on low end but the Dyns wipe the floor with them in nearly every other aspect. What bass the Dyns do have is better controlled and more tunefull.

    Now i know its not fair to compare at this time, without more use on the Kestrels, but they need to improve a hell of a lot to win the day.

    Andy,
    I know it is too early to make your mind up , but if after a couple of weeks you still think the dyns are winners can you not borrow a decent sub from someone ?
    It seems to me your main complaint is a lack of bass weight so a sub would seem to be the way to go .

    certainly worth a go, although i would like speakers that are easier to drive and better at lower volumes.
