I usually drive a Honda Civic 1.5 with some letters after that VTEC? Although it claims 125 HP you only get them at very high revs and, at that level of pushing, the car is rather understeering and not very fun to drive.
I bought it because it is reliable and I don't have to think about it.
Occasionally I drive powerful cars - sports and sedans. My father owns a top Citroen Xantia model (biturbo), but I really don't like it: too large and too unstable at really high speed. One of my brothers has a very powerful Opel Omega. It is a beast to handle - it is so heavy it doesn't really break -, but rear traction makes up for it.
If I chose a car for pleasure I'd go for the Honda S2000 (Michael will say it is a pimp's car - well, perhaps, but it is rather good). Again, no trouble and a great car. It is a bit tricky to drive, though. If the tail begins to slide out you must have quick reflexes and really know what you are doing. Otherwise it is very probable that you crash or at least lose control.
Porsches, of course, are perhaps my favourite cars, because they really are oversteering and very powerful. But if you know what you are doing most of them will respond very precisely.
Why don't I have a Honda S2000? Because I have other priorities in life - all rather expensive.
I used to race cars and powerful karts when I was younger. When I want adrenaline I go to the track with my brother's kart (you can achieve 250Km/h on a really long straight) and make a few laps. But I feel less and less tempted. Racing is a dangerous sport and I am not growing any younger. I am still fast, but I get tired rather quickly. And, what is more, I don't feel the urge to be first on track.
So, the Honda is about right for me.
