Halleluja - at last someone is recognising my earlier post about black CDR's - and NO RISK to your CD collection - here that Tones my friend NO RISK - thought I had become invisible and come on guys - i started the whole thing off!!!!! Yep - it's the black thing ergo laserlight thingie which accounts for the sound improvement. Now come on no nasty postings about orange is the new green, black is the new silver etc etc Stellabagpuss do tell how you find the black CDR lathed copies?

Now feeling loved and appreciated! ;-)

PS Zanash's interconnects sound better than most I've heard - voodoo eh!

We did this with some customers normal cdr's and black cdr's.
humm..................I'd say more natural with the orginal , though slightly cleaner at the top with cdr. very very little difference.
    Trying some more on Saturday

Very good! You got nearly everything – the only major one omitted is “Even my wife heard the difference, and she's deaf/dead/I'm not marriedâ€Â. :D

I accept completely that you believe you heard a difference. I'm happy you're happy - and I'm happier than ever that I'm completely immune to these alleged differences.

    Frankly, no.
I think that's my weak point - total lack of imagination. Still, I have no problem living with that.

Here that Tones. Yes, as you say, no risk, but why waste money on black CDRs for something that doesn't work?

Interesting stuff. Have anyone tried just blackening the edge without cuting the edge off to see how much was the effect was due the beveling and blackening the edge?

Also could you tell easily whether the CD have been bavel just by inspecting it with your eyes or hand. If it is not easy to tell them apart I would thought it would easy enough to post a pair of CDs around for people to listen at home using a greater range of players themselves .... like one only with the edge blacken against another bevel and blacken to see which one sound better.

the lathed edge is pretty obvious once you know what to look for.

maybe enrol the missus for some ABX testing?

I've tried blackening and Greening on the edge of CD's, personally I found that I didn't enjoy the sound as much as a normal CD-R,but once you put a Lathed in, the difference IMO is quite large.

In regards to trying a Lathed CD out, I will send you a PM !
