Yes WM, I have seen it. Thank you very much. Yesterday I was home very late; went out for dinner and after that picked up some stuff at Garmts, so only checked my mail, didn't read it. And here in the office I can't reach my private mail (that website is blocked), so tonight I will read it in detail...

Hey I'd take my Moon nova and my Reimyo dap 777 with exotic digi cable! Anyday although I've yet to experience the Wadia magic?!
Any one fancy lending me one? LOL

I've never heard one, but reading the reviews, they are considered as one of the best (and a possible Wadia beater). How does Reimyo compare to (a decent) Wadia? I play a lot of classical, and I like the weight and scale with which a large orchestra is presented (a big drum IS a big drum, even with the poor-mans Wadia 830).

I have to say it just didn't live up to the hype (I had the player, Snoopdog owns one you could pm him), very very open, nice mid band trextures with quite respectable dynamics, it just had no life or soul. Could be seriously clinical too
It sounds better IMO with Jazz, Light classical, Female vocals, Folk type stuff it excels at that
With really complex musical passages it just didn't seem to work.
Saying that Classical doesn't rely on this.Consider the DCS P8i i/used dcs stack/Accuphase dp75v/Audio mecca/Buremester 001 (nice cdp, had one of these too)
Its very odd, a lot of classical guys own Wadias which surprised me, maybe its the lower end frequency extension. Wadia are more about music then placement or hifi sound, their imaging isn't that clever and in Algo 'a' its a touch rolled off -1db@16khz and -3@18kz.
Though when you play them their favorite piece with either of the other 2 algo's the prefer 'A' :D
Its all a personal thang Eric.

    Then it shouldn't be a surprise ;)
Most classical lovers are music lovers, not hifi lovers. Pure hifi lovers one might find in the jazz corner I think (I fear that this is a dangarous statement :D ).

From the other players you mention I have only heard the dCS 8Pi. It's a very refined player, but I felt some distance. Not a fysical distance, but a distance to the soul of the music.

Well Reiymo dap certainly stirred things up a bit.
W.Miester I can see where your coming from but in my experience I've found the Reiymo dap very sensitive to transport, cables and feet.
Take of the Harmonix feet and stick a set of still points underneath change the powercord for say a VDH mainstream bs and get an transparent but musical IC on it. Then this dac really comings alive. Even with Classical stuff.

My favoured tastes are Jazz, ambient electronica and simple acoustic arrangments so prob why I luv it so much!

I'm always on the lookout for other fluid and musical dacs!
the DCS can be sterile the best way to help it release it's musical soul is giving it the Vertyex Aq Kinabalu support treatment.
W.Meister will prob comment I'm biased though! LOL

    Any suggestions W.Meister?

I had the player not the dac, it had more power leads tried on it than you can imagine, Still points only served for a sideways move (on that piece of equipment)
What do you think of Tom selling them at £200 for a full set BTW?

Oh never heard the player. Looks nice though.Lol

And I don't know who Tom is? Afraid I can't get involved in otheres and what they sell at!
What Wadia are you running? I've heard so much about the Wadia players but only ever heard the 302 I struggled with it. But would love to hear the big gun flagship wadia gear. Trouble is no-one near me owns or sells it.

By the way who likes my latest Gurl in my Avatar pic?

Please pass on my details to your client I've love to hear one does he run the 861se?

Are the claims that the 861basic is sonicly identical to the se version?

Ah is tom the cablemail chap? I've bought a couple of items through him in the past...

First I didn't know what you were talking about. But I found the website of Still Points. So I know what these things are now (even found a review in Hifi+ on that site). But what is the normal price then? Have to check out if they are available in The Netherlands. Seems as if you can compare them with Finate Elemente Ceraballs...

Hi eric The stillpoints are stunning devices.

although to be used in simular ways, they blow the cera balls out of the park!
UK rrp is £225 a set but cablemail will do you a set for £200. www.cablemail.netfirms.com

MUch better than ceriballs, cable mail also sells them for £200 for a full set including raisers, not keen on the stands, feel they do more harm than good.
However still points only kills internal component vibration. IMHO
