SM i'd love to pop round some time, i'll bring some cables if you like and we can see if we can hear any difference in your set up. i've not heard an SP10 in a while so it would be enlightening, and i do have some lovely choice vinyl.

My view (and that of many others) is that you keep dodging having your cables tested because you know it will be embarassing.

So now the nitty gritty its the marketing. Agreed, who believes ads? Not many I believe. You are 100% correct in saying the marketing schemes are a bit tough to swallow. The cable Manfs are here to make money and they play a game with our heads for sure. Now thats if you let them.
Honestly, IMO cables do sound different to a degree. They are over priced, over marketed and some just bullock to make money. I agree some sort of standards should be set to level the game.
LCR measurements could be a standard to start with. Anyone agree or disagree.

Or even cheaper, just use some 3 core mains flex. I do and I can't tell any difference between that and some QED XT400 I have lying around, so I chopped some of the XT400 up and used it to wire the internals of my DIY speakers.

A 25m roll of mains cable costs £15. :)

I used 2.5mm twin and earth for ages, was good and cheap.
I now have expensive wanky wires, to my ears they were worth the money:)

You must be getting confused. I don't think you have felt the need to delete any of my posts - primarily because I don't hurl insults. But feel free to contradict me.
