The best album from an artist thread.

I'm not really an REM fan at all actually, Out Of Time was therefore an easy choice, as most people say it's not the real REM which is probably why I like it. Although I also own Green and like that too, but not at all bothered about any of the others.

Same for me henry Out of Time and Automatic... are the only REM albums I like, I don't even like Green , best track for me though by far is "Me in Honey", always gets me....

Ilockyer mocked me mercilessly for saying the very same just this weekend! It's a corker (but Country Feedback is excellent, as is Low - I'd say it's a real tossup between them, but Kate Pearson's got a fit voice, so that's that! We have a winner!).

Murmer's a fantastic album though :)

BTW - Enya's Watermark isn't a patch on Enya/Enya. Don't get the crap remixed and ruined The Celts - the BBC original issue is far superior in both musicality and tone.

I find REM's early output far preferable. 'Murmur, 'Reckoning' and 'Life's Rich Pageant' are their best. They are still sort of OK now and make some nice songs. After moving to Warners, they made some good albums but nothing comparable to early years, I reckon.

Another plus point for REM is that their albums always seem to be in the sales. Have you noticed? There are lots in the current HMV sale. So you can pick them up for a fiver. Any fans without the early IRS albums should give them a go.
