Blimey, thought about changing your username to "Lucky"? Unbelievable. Ah, but it's Parcelfarce. Completely believable. -- Ian
Well after 10 days or so in Parcel Force limbo, god knows where they sent the turntable, my P25 finally made it to the Rega factory this morning. And in approximately 5-6 hours they have been able to completely rebuild it with a new plinth, surround, and electronics. The only original item left is the RB-600 arm. And it is now winging it's way back to my dealer in Edinburgh by next day delivery. Now that is what I call service! So with any luck I'll have the vinyl spinning before the end of the week.
Well I've held off buying any new vinyl until I knew that the turntable was repaired. But once I've paid for the cartridge I reckon it'll be off round the local record shops to see what bargains I can find. I'm just really looking forward to giving some of my old vinyl a spin after all these years of CDs .
Well I finally picked up my P25 from the local dealer this morning. All I can say is it was worth all the hassle. The cartridge will still need a good few hours to run in as will the phono stage. But it's already sounding damn good to my cloth ears . So I think a visit to the local record shops is in order over the weekend. I've certainly had plenty of time to draw up a shopping list .
