Let me have a look at them first and secondly let me hear them before saying anything else. There are also a couple of minor details such as my boss and lack of room:D.

Hi Joseph, you can send me the picture if you like but having thought about it I fell I only want to risk the wrath of my boss for a pair of 15" DMTs. If you have them connected up let me know. I'll try and pop around.

Hey Dev, has your missus seen the somewhat unattractive speckled finish on the DMT side/top panels? Her wrath may be even greater than you expect :D.

I'm well impressed by my 'little' 10's, but they're bloody ugly, I was even wondering whether I could stick wood veneer over the plastic panels in a desperate attempt to make them less hideous.

Pah, she can only kill me so often:D.

    I don't see why not.

Nando's Cheviot are tempting, especially if they are mint as he says, but I think I'll resist. I really don't need another pair of speakers.

David, your 15 inchers seem to have paper pulp cones. I thought DMTs cones were made from polymer, just like Neil's 12 inchers, or my D700s.

    Hi Dev,

lets just say that no modern audiophile speaker I have heard comes close, regardless of cost! (apart from the larger speakers from the Tannoy Prestige range, of course!)

They make most other speakers sound like toys!

I'll arrange a listening session soon!

I saw a pair of 15" DMTs locally in a S/H shop about 5 years ago (I was surprised to see them there TBH). I just couldn't afford them at the time:(.

Thanks David, I knew the 215s used paper cone (I saw a pair in a recording studio), but didn't know about the 15s.

15" paper cones yes and if you look down the tulip on the 15's they have a small bullet shaped centre piece to the waveguide-the other TW DC's don't have it FWIW:)

Both speakers use an identical main driver- the 3833gg. The 215s (meaning 2 x 15) use a second driver - I believe 3834gg- where the concentric tweeter is removed and replaced with a dustcap.
