But please forgive me here Marco, I'm not the guy who started all this with such ridiculous statements as:
Michael, by way of an example, would you say you categorically disliked, say, Spaghetti Bolognaise, if you suspected you had never tasted the real thing as known by Italians?
Merlin, the point I was trying to make is that definitive statements should not be made unless one is in possession of all the facts. It's clear to me that some people seem to be forming conclusive opinions about Mana when that is clearly not the case.
In my analogy, the person would say: "I hate Spag Bol", even though he or she suspects their experience is not based on entirely accurate criteria: they haven't tasted the real thing like the Italians. Therefore, what I'm saying is that as their experience is flawed and not based on accurate judgement criteria, the definitive statement isn't accurate.
To me, this is the same as when people say: "I hate Mana" and haven't heard the real thing like experienced Mana users. In reality, such people have based their opinion on the same flawed experience as the person who says they hate Spag Bol.
And I am not the one doing the preaching here, although maybe the irony is over the head of a typical lay preacher.
Preaching? If that's how you interpret it then fine. But what you should realise, Merlin, is that when you decide to express your views about Mana, it's only natural that Mana users return the compliment by giving you their opinion in return. Only fair isn't it? If you don't want what you term as 'preaching', then you know what to do
Marco.
