A great shame that you are not closer otherwise I would be round tomorrow to help you with your Ash Designs rack.
OK then, just tell me the secret and where I went wrong with it. There are hardly any adjustable bits to it apart from the floor interface AFAICT. It's not a bad rack, but versus Mana?

Nullo contendere amigo.

Squeak, squeak, squeak. Does this Pagoda thingy play the tune?
The tune. What tune? Paul Ranson could maybe comment about Mana's 'tune-playing' abilities.

And who didn't like my system terribly?

voila

But please forgive me here Marco, I'm not the guy who started all this with such ridiculous statements as:

Michael, by way of an example, would you say you categorically disliked, say, Spaghetti Bolognaise, if you suspected you had never tasted the real thing as known by Italians?

Merlin, the point I was trying to make is that definitive statements should not be made unless one is in possession of all the facts. It's clear to me that some people seem to be forming conclusive opinions about Mana when that is clearly not the case.

In my analogy, the person would say: "I hate Spag Bol", even though he or she suspects their experience is not based on entirely accurate criteria: they haven't tasted the real thing like the Italians. Therefore, what I'm saying is that as their experience is flawed and not based on accurate judgement criteria, the definitive statement isn't accurate.

To me, this is the same as when people say: "I hate Mana" and haven't heard the real thing like experienced Mana users. In reality, such people have based their opinion on the same flawed experience as the person who says they hate Spag Bol.

And I am not the one doing the preaching here, although maybe the irony is over the head of a typical lay preacher.

Preaching? If that's how you interpret it then fine. But what you should realise, Merlin, is that when you decide to express your views about Mana, it's only natural that Mana users return the compliment by giving you their opinion in return. Only fair isn't it? If you don't want what you term as 'preaching', then you know what to do ;)

Marco.

Marco, I believe a Mana owner started this thread, but never mind, it's all rather tedious.

Merlin, the point I was trying to make is that definitive statements should not be made unless one is in possession of all the facts. It's clear to me that some people seem to be forming conclusive opinions about Mana when that is clearly not the case.

So I take it that you Mana owners will now stop making the offending definitive statements then.

Show me one quote of a definitive statement I've made about Mana.

I think you'll find I only ever offer opinions, not make definitive statements.

When will you non-Mana users stop unfairly slagging off Mana? ;)

Marco.

ok.....:D

So if someone comes to your gaff to sample the 'true' Mana experience based on entirely accurate criteria, and decides they don't like it, is that ok?

Or could you not be certain of their mental faculties under such an experiment, hence throwing the whole exercise into doubt.

Perhaps the individual could be hooked up to a heart rate monitor and other devices throughout, followed by a post experiment lie detector test?

I'm upset that i may never have eaten real spag bol now :(

Seeing as spag bol isnt a real italian dish, much like the indian meal, made for british tastes, i doubt your missing anything.
Following that logic, it makes Mana an irrelevant invention designed for people who dont like the original real taste.
Ha, the truth uncovered
No need to perpetuate the story now lads we know it's a fake!
Mods please close:D

Originally posted by Marco Anyway, so yes the Pagode is an excellent rack, but from my experience, it still isn't in the same ballpark as Mana: nowhere near it.

But which Pagode stand did you try, the middle of the range or the top model?

Sorry, Penance, spag bol is indeed a real Italian dish and the real thing is very tasty. Unlike this thread, which is very dull.

Fear not my fellow traveller of the etheral planes, many a long and winding road hath' led to a grastronomic extravagansa such as 'Proper Spag Bol', hewn from 2 dozen Italain Tomato Farmers (from Naples) real British beef & sun kissed pasta, loving created in Phil Vickerys kitchen, whilst be blessed with sprinklings of 'Delights from Heaven', yes JW has seen to it that the Humble spag bol, now contains extract of mana, for those truley seeking those 8 pointed rings of true sonic enlightenment & the tanacity of a pitbull. c'mon - serious question before closure.

what is the optimum level of mana. Is there a jolly rogers cookbook in underground circles, with a particular phase recipe for any particular component?

Its important. I mean. Take my marantz cdp for example. Do i fire straight in at a phase 10, or play it safe on a phase 2?

pray tell

Damn and blast
yet again they lied
although i have eaten spagbol in Chioggia, but i was sure it wasnt an original dish.
Was tasty tho, and the wine was divine:D

Don't worry Penance, after all real spag bol has no relevance to whether people like rack A, rack B, or prefer to balance their equipment on the heads of Lithuanian peasants.

I think we can all agree that, although some way behind the French, Chinese, Thai, and Indian, the Italians have a reasonable cuisine. Parts of Italy, anyway.

Whatever I think of Mana, James's system sounded a lot better on it than it did on Ash.

I have a Futurist cookbook which includes a recipe for spaghetti with vongole, nuts & bolts.
