´Hi-Fi, Kafka and me

Sounds great Mr T - I finish with my current employer in about a month. After that my new employer insists I only go into the office one day a week so I will be free most afternoons. Whats an Erdinger?

If you pay the postage then I will consider it SSB - it should be around £1000.

I'll do it for half that.:D

Hmmm... 100 quid for hiring a van, another 100 for diesel, leaves 300 for some new music.:D

Sounds good Dev. if you collect them from BBV and bring them to me, I'll pay you £500.

I can't guarantee they won't come back without a few ports in the cabinet, or other, ahem, "modifications". PMC rage is hard to control.

Drat, just remembered you live on a hill, so I'll need to insure my back. So perhaps only a couple of hundred profit:D.

As we are all at it, can I point out that I was the first one to admit that my system was nothing special.:D

Can this thread get sillier? Come on guys, Markus started a serious thread about his time in London and no one else has touched on that topic at all.

I can endorse Ian and Markus's enthusiasm for Francis Wheen's biography of Karl Marx, and would encourage visitors to London to include a trip to the (old) British Library on their itinerary. Other than that, I could expand on the time(s) I 've had my wallet stolen, and speculate wildly about the possible sound of other people's hifi, thus completing the loop.

I think the only person who has insinuated that they have the best system is BBV.

Mine is a simple setup that happens to play my kind of music well enough. Who on earth would consider this a competition. I merely pointed out that a visitor to BBV's thought their setup was more convincing.

Not so sure about the subject of it....

Je suis Marxiste, tendence Groucho :D

But the British Library Reading room is definitly worth the visit and the Sainsbury exhibition of African Art in the British Museum Basement serious kicks booty.

Ciao T

Markus should have delayed and come to my next bake off - thats on topic.

Ok Mr T you are on.

Actually, I dont need to work in the office for my new job so my new employer offered this as an incentive and also to allow me to research undisturbed. I am also free to relocate anywhere in the world and work remotely.

SM - your false modesty isnt very convincing.

I am feeling some SSB rage - does that justify giving you a new "port" too? ;)

Dev, I came to London to have a good time. I also am having a good time reading this thread. It's perfectly on topic. Carry on, lads.

Why to sample the delights of a brinkmann and PMC based system in london of course! Perhaps next time?

Still on a vacation high.

Andy, I posted that Nick had yet to move me. It was supposed to be an allusion to my not inconsiderable girth (I'm working on it), but I deleted it as someone was bound to post something along the lines of the earth moving for me when I heard Nick's system.
