    I'd second what Paul says:eek:

If you get the chance, do listen to one of the bigger Rotels with the Dyns, they gel really well. Maybe a touch of smoothing off the fine detail compared with megabucks kit, but they really are musical with real dynamic grunt.

Oh and Dynaudio use their own amplifiers for development. Anyone seen the Arbiters:eek:

The BC Evo 2i integrated I've been playing with for the past week or so doesn't quite do the ball busting Krell impersonator thang very well  My GamuT is much better in that respect.

Should be able to knock the guy down a bit on that $1100 for the 200.2, as the other 3 I saw on Audiogon which have all gone were a bit cheaper than that.

Shipping was $240 for my Evo 2i, that's for a 5 working day "Expediated" service from UPS. Package was weight was about 18kg, the 200.2 should be able the same.

If you want a UK deal, there's an Evo 2 (newer version of 2002.) on Hififorsale ATM, but you'll be paying UK prices and be way over budget.

Henry, apart the testosterone fuelled hifi attributes, how does the 2i compare for musical enjoyment?

Last time I did that test the Krell went bang and fried an output stage, plus when you switch the 200.2 into dual diff mode the krell becomes just a Hard distant, over warm memory, although rugged and more powerful that the 50 wpc suggests, the ksa50, just doubles up as nostalgic trip down pinball alley
Merlin and Paul, are on the right lines, abig Rotel is fun, dynamic & ballsy and a good price too, the 1070 didn't disgrace itself at all, take one for a test drive Andy, you may yet be surprised. T.
The 200.2 power amp, doesn't suffer from the polite tendenices that the 2i does, unless you feed something like a M/f or levvy, which hopefully you wont :D

ah hem, must admit ive not heard much of this stuff
trying to gleam as much knowledge as i can - i hate to say but the best it is likely to get is an educated guess:rolleyes:

Empoium have a sim celeste, i mailed asking for model but no response.
Henry, i worked it out to be around 850 to the door for a bel canto, must admit ive not seen the 2000.2 cheaper than 1050 dolla(sucky sucky)
I would love to get a try at an audio research valve power, but somewhat out of my range i think

    Robbo,

I kept on meaning to write a review this week, but can't be arsed ATM. Will do so soon though. :)

The Evo 2i is very good with more subtle styles of music making. It soothes and swells, rather than banging it all out at you at warp speed. It's got what I perceive as the usual trademark of PWM amps of being able to grip and control the drivers rather well. Really does sound like a valve amp in the mids, but without the treacle that *some* valve amp add.
