Argos Solid Granite Iso Platforms!!!

sorry Penance. I was merely plugging my favorite supplier of granite racks/supports/ speaker plinths etc - HNE

I use one and am very happy. Suprisingly cheap they are compared to the competition.

Not quite 12.99, but theres a fair old difference in size going on!

:)

It seems to me that he's been hoofed off eBay. Naughty boy. Must have taken the idea from this thread?

Now who here had an eBay account under the name 'audiobuff4'??? :D

Just splashed out £26 on 2 slabs, one slab went underneath the amp and the other placed on top to damp the case. Money well spent IMO, a minimal cost tweak and I just love the look of polished granite. :MILD:

Yeah audiphile grade polypropelene with special patterned finish and irregular egdes to break up soundwaves in to irregular energy which is harnessed by regular pattern and dispersed as heat, which is then easily cooled passively. The isolation platforms also have a racetrack shaped cutout, the size and shape of which has been finely tuned after extensive research and should be placed closest to power switch, side of the component (for those with centred switches then have it the same as the one above or below)available in a variety of colours and sizes, blue for amplification, green for analogue and white for digital, the colours denoting differing electrical carecteristics needed for each component, the deign of which has some patents attached to it.

How does it sound, well lets just say we haven't had any returned (Haen't sold any thats why).

various prices ranging from only £299 analogue isocutter suit headphone amp etc to £2495 for the largest digital model.

Nope. I got one too but I usually store it under my preamp.
You must understand that the only reason to do so is purely because there is no more space to keep it in the kitchen. ;)

Since the multi-channels amp is located just below the preamp/processor I have been looking for something to elevate the upper box to prevent it from being cook. Seems this cutting board fit the job nicely and have a bit of audiophile cred look. :D

Am I the only one thinking of getting one as a chopping board?

There is inevitably somewhere else on the internet a forum of kitchen hardware geeks discussing the usage of Mana soundstage / RA Torlyte shelves etc as a chopping boardââ'¬Â¦

Tony.

Went down to the local Argos and i got the last one, the sales woman said they have sold loads of these recently, i'll try it under the amp. We have a long-pile carpet if i got another, would it be worth me trying them under the speakers?

Isaac i'm looking forward to hearing it. Bluemax thanks for the advise, at present i am saving up for a new amp, so if the cost is high it will have to wait.

Argos ones are cheap but they don't seem thick enough.
May be a 'stone shop' will cut them to required size and stiil be cheap.

you can always buy 2 too increase the thickness.however i bought 4 and use 2 under the amp and 2 under the cdp.too me it beats paying £100 or more for a similar product with a hifi name on it.has it improved the sound yes but not to an extent of WOW! certainly more rythm too regular tracks like Marleena Shaw stuff i listen too.to be honest if you want something solid to slap under your hardware then u cant go wrong with these at £12.99!!!!.
However u can go for a mdf cut from Russ Andrews at 10 times the price which will probably reproduce similar results.
