Currently Spinning

Yesterday it was my first big-screen dvd session with:
Primus - Hallucino-Genetics tour
Led Zeppelin - 2003
AC/DC - live at Knebworth
Muse - Hullaballoo
MC5 - Live at the 100 Club with Lemmy and Dave Vanian...

Smashing rock eve - not as good sounding as cd but the 6' screen makes up for it..

Currently spinning an album that makes it into my personal top ten.

Beautiful, life afirming stuff.

Or as the reviewers on Amazon say..

'This is THE essential Smashing Pumpkins, even if its reputation has diminished in the last 9 years to the extent that its flawless pre-cursor is invariably lauded above it.'

A bullet with butterfly wings.

AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip Tour live DVD (amazing how Angus still does his ridiculous "strip" after all these years - he'll be collecting his pension soon!)

Classics in their own way all of 'em - but this I had forgotten about. Not heard it for over 25 years but I can remember these lyrics:-
"Don't give a damn I don't ****in' care/
Gonna kill me Mum & Dad and pull out me hair/
Tired of the dole and the human race/
I'm gonna cut me liver out and shove it in your face - KILL!!!!!!!"

Genius.

Thanks for the memory.

Some excellent stuff on there, including 3 of my all-time favourite singles (Swell Maps, Subway Sect, Pere Ubu). And some utter shite. Eater? Good grief.

Just finished listening to:
Thee Michelle Gun Elephant - Gear Blues (cracking Japanese garage rock)
Nils Landgren Funk Unit - Live in Montreux (seriously jazz-funky)

Now it's going to be The Monochrome Set singles - sadly missed and sadly undervalued. They certainly show Franz Ferdinand a thing or two!

This weekend I have mostly been listening to:

Liquid Tension Experiment
Heart - Greatest Hits
Porcupine Tree - Signify
Brahms - Symphony No.2
